While I was working on the series Los Olvidados, I also developed the project SoulWoman. A collection that moves away from my usual universe, mainly inhabited by male figures. The development of this collection coincided with my moving to Lake Como, a place totally surrounded by nature. To me, the female essence, rather than a genre difference or a way of being, is creative power, The project can be compared to a tale divided into chapters, where each chapter recounts one aspect of the female universe. Other chapters aim to pay tribute to forgotten female figures. In some of the works I made use of the pencil, although what prevails in this series is chromatism. The works arising from this kind of research are rife with natural materials. In this project, more than in any other, painting and sculpture merge.
